Pizza Dough – Perfect Pizza Every Time – EASY!!

This recipe is very simple. You only need a few ingredients and you more than likely have all of them lying around – except the yeast. That’s usually something that’s not kept on hand unless you intend on making some sort of bread.

We love to make our own pizza. Pizza and wine is one of our favorite date nights. We’re really big into cooking around here 😀

Good pizza starts with good dough. So, here you go!

  • 1 1/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • dash of salt

total time: 1 hour

Step 1: combine 1 1/4 cup warm water with 1 teaspoon yeast. stir and let sit for 5-10 minutes.

Step 2: in a mixing bowl, add flour, sugar, and salt.

Step 3: after yeast mixture has been sitting and appears bubbly, add this to your mixing bowl with the flour mixture. Next, add your olive oil.

Step 4: stir, stir, stir. This will get difficult but you really don’t need a KitchenAid or any sort of fancy mixer to make pizza dough – a little elbow grease does the job just fine. Keep stirring until mixture becomes less sticky.

Step 5: remove your dough from the bowl and place on a floured surface. Knead the dough for 3-5 minutes, adding additional flour as needed.

Step 6: either oil or flour your original mixing bowl (so dough doesn’t stick) and place your dough back in the bowl. Cover with towel, plastic wrap, or whatever you have. Let rise for 1 hour. When you return, your dough should be double in size.

Step 7: divide as needed/wanted, roll out, and begin placing your toppings!

I hope you enjoy this pizza dough recipe as much as me! Let me know your thoughts!
